Bukayo Saka pips Ian Wright and closes in on Robin van Persie's Arsenal record
Bukayo Saka is one of Arsenal’s most important players.
The England international has been around since Mikel Arteta’s first day as Gunners’ boss, and he has been crucial in the rebuild.
Saka has had a difficult 18 months due to injuries, but he looks back to his best now and has scored in each of Arsenal’s first two Premier League games.
By doing so, the Hale End graduate has overtaken a club legend.

Arsenal have had many incredible attackers over the years.
Gooners will immediately think about Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp, but there have been many others who have contributed to Arsenal’s wins.
Ian Wright is definitely one of them.
Before Henry became the superstar, Wright led Arsenal’s line in magnificent fashion and scored 185 goals and provided 31 assists for the club in all competitions.
In the Premier League, the legendary Englishman directly contributed to 123 goals, and some of those goals and assists directly helped Arsenal pick up 80 points.
Bukayo Saka has now pipped him on that list.
Saka had directly helped Arsenal earn 79 points with his goals and assists, but his strike against Aston Villa took that tally up to 82, surpassing Wright.
That ranks him fourth in Arsenal’s all-time, behind Henry (160), Bergkamp (112) and Robin Van Persie (92).
If Saka continues his fine form, we expect him to leapfrog Van Persie’s Arsenal record before the end of this season.

Bukayo Saka is like a new signing for Arsenal
Even though Saka only missed 11 games in all competitions for Arsenal last season, it was clear to see that he wasn’t fully fit for several months.
That had a clear impact on his performances, but those injury issues seem to be behind him now.
Saka looks fresh, sharp and back to his best. He has scored in each of the first two games this season, and we won’t be surprised at all if he makes it three in three against Chelsea on Sunday.
It’s a phrase that doesn’t normally make fans happy, but we really think Saka is like a new signing for Arsenal this season.
