The seven-figure loan fee Borussia Dortmund have paid Arsenal for Ethan Nwaneri

Arsenal allowed Ethan Nwaneri to join Borussia Dortmund on loan on transfer deadline day.

The Gunners sent the youngster to Marseille in the second half of last season, and even though he had a great start, the move turned out to be a disaster.

Joining Dortmund on loan could be the complete opposite for Nwaneri – just look at the impact they had on the likes of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham.

Arsenal will surely benefit from the youngster’s development, and to make things better, they have pocketed a good fee already.

Ethan Nwaneri may not have a place at Arsenal right now, but he is worth a lot of money.

The teenager is one of the best young talents in the country and still holds the record for being the youngest ever appearance-maker in the Premier League.

There were rumours earlier in the summer that Arsenal could sell Nwaneri for a fee in excess of £50 million, which would’ve made him their record sale.

However, the Gunners changed their mind and decided to only loan out the youngster, that too for a decent fee.

Football London have revealed that Arsenal have charged Borussia Dortmund a fee of €5 million (£4.3m) to have Nwaneri on loan for the season.

The Bundesliga side will also cover the player’s salary until the deal ends next summer.

Furthermore, this is a straight loan deal, which means Dortmund have no guaranteed option to buy Nwaneri at the end of his spell.

That gives Arsenal complete control over the player’s future, which is absolutely the right thing to do.
