Arsenal fans are all so upset after seeing what Mikel Arteta did vs Coventry City

Arsenal are showing just how ruthless they are as a football club.

For years, many people complained that the Gunners made decisions based on emotions, and that led to certain players overstaying their welcome.

After winning the Premier League title, Arsenal seem to have changed, and that has been evident in their last two games.

One of the victims of that ruthlessness is Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal fans are upset with how Mikel Arteta is treating Gabriel Martinelli

Martinelli’s future has been up in the air for a few months now, and Mikel Arteta’s recent decisions make it clear where his future lies.

The Brazil international was left out of the squad in the Community Shield against Manchester City, and he has suffered the same fate in the Premier League opener against Coventry City.

Arsenal fans are very upset – not because they think Martinelli should not be sold but because of how he is being treated after years of loyal service.

One tweeted: “Yeah, this ain’t it. I get that we need to move him, but Martinelli doesn’t deserve to be frozen out of the squad like this, especially considering how the club treated other players who deserved much worse.”

Another wrote: “I really don’t like how we are treating him. I get it, but he’s the last player we should be doing this to.”

“I feel for him. It’s time for an upgrade if we can land one, but forcing Martinelli out like this is tough to see,” said another.

Another Gooner reacted by saying: “I don’t have a problem with Martinelli getting sold, but keeping him out of the Matchday Squad doesn’t sit well with me. Maybe 10 or 15 minutes against Coventry and a proper goodbye to the fans he spent seven years of his career with would have been a proper thing to do. I don’t see him as a cult hero but A CLUB LEGEND. In this manner, he looks more like an outcast.”

“He’s part of those who won us the league. They should show him some respect,” posted another.

Arsenal’s treatment of Gabriel Martinelli is sad to see

Evolution is a very important part of every club, but sometimes, that results in a few heartbreaking decisions.

Martinelli being left out of the squad two games running is the perfect example.

The former Ituano man joined the Gunners as a teenager and played a huge role in their rebuild under Arteta. He has always represented the badge well, loves the club and has given everything on the pitch.

Yes, it is time for a separation, but it really hurts to see Martinelli not even getting a spot on the bench. He deserves a farewell, but it doesn’t look like he will get one.

That is a real shame.
