Arsenal player ratings vs Coventry City: Kai Havertz scores again but £34m star outshines everyone

Arsenal begin their title defence with a 3-0 win against Coventry City.
The Gunners were always the favourites to win the game, and Mikel Arteta’s men showed the newly promoted side why they won the Premier League last season.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring in the first half with a brilliant finish before Bukayo Saka doubled the score from close range. Martin Odegaard then added a third at the start of the second period.
Here are our player ratings.
Arsenal player ratings vs Coventry City
David Raya: 7/10
One of the easiest games David Raya will ever play in. The Spaniard barely had anything to do and comfortably kept a clean sheet.
Ben White: 8/10
Ben White looks fit again, and that is massive for Arsenal. The Englishman was excellent, worked tirelessly up and down the right flank, and looks close to his best again.
Cristhian Mosquera: 8/10
A much more assured performance from Cristhian Mosquera. The Spaniard was very composed on the ball and dealt with everything without any trouble.
Gabriel Magalhaes: 7.5/10
Apart from the moment when he was beaten by the Coventry striker, brought him down and got a yellow card, Gabriel Magalhaes had a good outing.

Riccardo Calafiori: 8.5/10
Another fantastic performance from Riccardo Calafiori. Solid in and out of possession and picked up a classy assist as well.
Myles Lewis-Skelly: 8.5/10
Arsenal’s most underrated player on the pitch tonight. Myles Lewis-Skelly was outstanding without really standing out. That’s a sign of a great player.
Declan Rice: 8/10
A standard Declan Rice performance. He did what he had to do perfectly in and out of possession before being withdrawn after an hour.
Bukayo Saka: 8.5/10
Saka was a constant threat throughout his time on the pitch. The Englishman looks injury-free, hungry and desperate to prove a point. Off the mark for the season as well.

Martin Odegaard: 8.5/10
Arsenal really missed this version of Odegaard over the last two seasons. The Norwegian was excellent again and found the net too. He has already matched his goal tally from last season.
More of the same, please, skipper.
Christos Tzolis: 9/10
Christos Tzolis is a superstar in the making. The new £34 million signing was incredible from start to finish and very unlucky not to score. We love the look of him and can’t wait to see more. Our Man of the Match!
Kai Havertz: 8.5/10
Another game, another goal for Havertz. The German has scored in four consecutive starts for Arsenal now, and he is clearly the first-choice striker ahead of Viktor Gyokeres.
