Gary Neville says Martin Odegaard will actually become even better if Arsenal sign £100m+ player now

Arsenal kicked off the new Premier League season in style against Coventry City.
The Gunners went into the game as the clear favourites, and they showed their class from the very start against Frank Lampard’s newly promoted side.
Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka’s goals got them going, while Christos Tzolis was absolutely incredible on his Premier League debut for Arsenal.
But Martin Odegaard was named the Man of the Match, and Gary Neville has given a suggestion to make him even better.
Gary Neville says Martin Odegaard will explode if Arsenal sign Julian Alvarez
Odegaard has been phenomenal since he returned for pre-season.
The Arsenal captain has had a rough couple of years due to injuries, but he seems to have put that behind him now and looks back to his best.
Odegaard ran the show for the Gunners against Coventry City, and just like he did against Manchester City in the Community Shield, he scored right after half-time.
This is the Odegaard Arsenal need, but Neville thinks he could become even better if Arsenal end up signing Julian Alvarez before the window shuts.

He said about Odegaard on Sky Sports: “His understanding of the game is fantastic.
“I actually think that, and I’m being respectful here to sort of Havertz and to Gyokeres, but if there was an Ian Wright up front for Arsenal, who made those little runs all the time, I think he would be even better.
“I think because Gyokeres always comes to the play, and so does Havertz. He’s almost always playing possession in the final third rather than playing those slip-through passes, which I think could be so dangerous.
“So I actually think that if Arsenal were to get an Alvarez, I actually think he (Odegaard) would go up a level as well himself, because I think that would be perfect for the style of play.”
Julian Alvarez is the missing piece at Arsenal
Arsenal are the strongest team in the Premier League and are the favourites to retain the title.
The Gunners have two top-class players in every position on the pitch, and they have the quality to beat any side on their day.
If there is one area of improvement, though, it would probably be their attack. Arsenal could do with a striker who will guarantee them goals.
We think Alvarez, who will cost well in excess of £100 million, is exactly that player, and with Odegaard behind him, he could become a superstar at the Emirates.
