Some of the most talked-about transfer sagas of the summer are about to end as the final hours of deadline day draw in.

Arsenal have made five signings so far, spending almost £200 million to improve Mikel Arteta's squad. The reigning Premier League champions sit in joint-first after a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Aston Villa on Monday night.

Arteta has vowed that the Gunners will be busy throughout the final day of the transfer window. Speaking post-match, the Arsenal boss said: "As I said, we are trying to improve the squad, and until tomorrow night we're going to try to do that.

"I've been disconnected from the world for 24 hours, because I think my energy and focus has to be on the match, and I will get back on it now."

Arteta has already signed Christos Tzolis, Bruno Guimaraes, Piero Hincapie, Ezri Konsa and Illan Meslier. Despite there being less than 24 hours remaining, the north London outfit are still being linked with moves for some highly-rated players.

With plenty of rumours floating around, football.london has examined the odds for Arsenal's next summer signing. Julian Alvarez has been subject to a major transfer saga this year, with Barcelona also showing interest in acquiring the striker.

However, Atletico Madrid have made it clear that they won't sell to their La Liga rivals. Reports claim that the Gunners are still keen on securing a record £128m deal for Alvarez with Atleti, who are looking at signing another striker themselves.

Another player who could finalise a dramatic deadline day signing to Arsenal is Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United attacker spent last season on loan to Barca and impressed with 29 goal contributions and two trophies.

He was linked with a move back to Spain but the La Liga giants opted against activating his £26m release clause. Rashford has played a part in both of United's Premier League games so far but could still be open to a move.

Adam Wharton is also a high-profile name in the transfer market right now. The Crystal Palace midfielder has been linked with a number of Premier League sides after impressing in south London.

Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi and Lyon midfielder Malick Fofana are also floating around as potential additions for Arteta on deadline day.
