Three potential landing spots for Ethan Nwaneri as Arsenal make their boundaries clear

Three potential landing spots for Ethan Nwaneri as Arsenal make their boundaries clear

Ethan Nwaneri looks set to leave Arsenal this summer, but only on loan as the club have made their boundaires clear regarding a move for the Hale End graduate.

It was reported earlier this week that the Gunners are prioritising a temporary departure for the 19-year-old as opposed to sanctioning a permanent sale amid speculation around his future in the red half of North London.

The youngster has plenty of work to do if he is to break into Mikel Arteta's team once again, but with that looking very difficult this season, a year out on loan would be incredibly beneficial. Nwaneri has attracted interest from several clubs and here are three potential destinations for him in the closing weeks of the transfer window.

Fellow Premier League and London side Fulham are one of the clubs potentially looking at Nwaneri ahead of the window's closure and they could be the best possible destination as it offers him the chance for more experience in the top flight.

A move across the capital would see him link up with former Gunners Bernd Leno, Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi, and he would also have the opportunity to work under Álvaro Arbeloa, who is aiming for a good first season at Craven Cottage.

Nwaneri would be following in the footsteps of Reiss Nelson, Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares, all of whom spent time on loan with Fulham while at Arsenal, but he will be hoping his possible period in West London will be more beneficial than it was for his predecessors.

Borussia Dortmund have been interested in Nwaneri since before the Gunners' pre-season campaign and if he is to move abroad, he could relish the opportunity to play in Germany.

The eight-time Bundesliga champions have been a great club for young English talent to thrive at in recent years with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Jamie Gittens impressing while in Dortmund.

A move to the Black and Yellow would give Nwaneri the chance to play in the Champions League, a competition he could be crucial in for Arsenal later in his career.

AC Milan are looking for a resurgence under new manager Ruben Amorim having missed out on Champions League qualification last season and not won the Serie A title for four years.

Nwaneri is reportedly on the 19-time champions' shortlist and a move to Italy's fashion capital would see him join up with fellow Englishmen Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori.
