Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to sign 21-goal/assist winger, Gunners could spend £86m

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has his sights on bringing Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz to the club before the transfer deadline, according to Tuttosport.

The Gunners have had a productive summer transfer window, and they have made signings who are likely to improve the quality of the squad for the new season.

Christos Tzolis has brought excitement as a left winger and recently bagged two assists in his competitive debut against Manchester City in the Community Shield.

Bruno Guimaraes was also brilliant to watch with his control in the heart of the midfield, and the former Newcastle United captain should provide a big upgrade.

The Gunners are currently on the cusp of landing Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, but it appears they are not done yet and could pursue another marquee forward.

Tuttosport today claim Arsenal have admitted defeat in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez and could now turn their attention to Juventus star Yildiz.

Arteta is a huge fan of the Turkey international and ‘wants him’ in London. The Gunners could be prepared to pay ‘even £86 million’ to bring him to the club.

Juventus, on the other hand, continue to insist that the 21-year-old is not for sale, and consider him a symbol of the club’s ambition as they seek to return to the top.

Arsenal could test Juventus’ resolve for Yildiz

The Bianconeri missed out on Champions League football last campaign after finishing sixth in Serie A. They were beaten to a top-four finish by the likes of Roma and Como after a dreadful end to the season, picking up just six points from their final five league matches.

Juventus have continued to show faith in manager Luciano Spalletti, but there is no denying the club are set for a significant loss without Champions League football. On top of this, they have spent £134 million in the transfer market compared to just £19m recouped from player sales.

Jonathan David, Edon Zhegrova, Teun Koopmeiners and Nicolas Gonzalez are among many names who have been placed on the transfer market, but no suitable offers have arrived. Yildiz is deemed untouchable, but that could change in the final days of the transfer window.

In our view, £87m may not prove sufficient to prise the Turkish ace away from the Bianconeri, but a higher package potentially in the region of £105-110m could test the resolve of the Turin giants. Yildiz only signed a new deal earlier this year, but he has not closed the door on a move to Arsenal.

Yildiz would be a fabulous acquisition to complement Tzolis on the left wing for the Gunners. He would offer something different. Tzolis is more known for his key passes and clever movement in tight spaces. Yildiz can do all that and also possesses quick dribbling skills to get behind defences.

The Bayern Munich graduate had a solid 2025/26 season at Juventus with 21 goal contributions. Yildiz created 15 big chances in Serie A alone, only bettered by two players. He is a winger with the potential to match Real Madrid’s Vinicius in the long run, and would be a statement signing.
