'Special' Arsenal star offered to Atletico Madrid, Gunners want £17.1m

'Special' Arsenal star offered to Atletico Madrid, Gunners want £17.1m

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has been offered to Atletico Madrid, according to journalist Matteo Moretto.

The Brazil international has fallen out of favour with the Gunners, and he was not in the matchday squad for the first two games of the new season.

Napoli are known to be interested in the 29-year-old, but they need to offload Noa Lang first before considering an offer for the versatile striker.

Amidst this, Moretto has told DAZN Futbol that Atletico have been offered the chance to sign Jesus.

Jesus’ entourage have contacted the La Liga giants to discuss a move before the transfer deadline.

Atletico, in turn, held discussions with the former Manchester City man over potential terms of a deal.

Atletico could secure double deal from Arsenal

Jesus has been told to pursue a new challenge away from the Gunners, and he was absent from first-team training on Thursday. Manager Mikel Arteta hinted that it was transfer-related.

The Brazilian has now been offered to Atletico through his representatives. The La Liga outfit are probably one of the teams that could come close to the player’s current salary.

Jan Oblak is Atletico’s highest earner at £342,000 per week, followed by Ademola Lookman, Julian Alvarez and new signing Cristian Romero, who are all earning £205,000 per week.

Jesus, described as ‘special‘ by Arteta, receives £265,000 per week at Arsenal. He could be placed in the £205,000 weekly bracket if Atletico strike an agreement. Arsenal want £17.1m to part ways with him.

There is also a possibility that the Madrid giants could sign Viktor Gyokeres from Arsenal.

The Gunners are still determined to bring Julian Alvarez to the club. The player has not opened the door for a transfer. If his stance changes in the next day or so, Gyokeres could move the other way.

The Madrid giants have set an asking price of £128.4m for the World Cup winner, but they are prepared to lower the transfer figure if they can land a ‘guaranteed replacement’ such as Gyokeres.
