Arsenal just cooked Morgan Rogers in an obvious callout
Arsenal defeated London rivals Chelsea 2-1 on Sunday and their social media team are absolutely loving the aftermath.
Morgan Rogers put the Blues in front after just two minutes to shock the Emirates Stadium, but Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard hit back with brilliantly taken strikes to turn the tie on its head and win the game for the Gunners.
The Premier League champions secured the victory to continue their perfect start to their title defence and in classic Arsenal fashion, they are still celebrating the win on their social media channels with Rogers the latest to be cooked in a very obvious callout.
When Ødegaard put his side in front on the 50 minute mark, Chelsea knew that they needed to fight back immediately, but as Mikel Arteta's team continued to dominate the possession, their only real opportunities were coming on the counterattack.
Six minutes after the Gunners captain's goal, the Blues looked to launch a quick break which ended in Rogers being played down the left side with a clear sight at running into the box, but up stepped Ezri Konsa. The ex-Aston Villa defender executed a perfectly timed slide tackle to dispossess his former teammate and neutralise the threat.
As expected, that sprung the Arsenal support into life as they made their feelings very clear to Rogers. The attacker looked set to join the club in the summer transfer window, but the North Londoners opted against paying over the odds for him, which led to him joining Chelsea instead, naturally making him an enemy of the red and white faithful.
It's safe to assume that the caption "Iced out." was no coincidence either with Rogers well known for his 'cold' celebration and the fact he opted to recreate Thierry Henry's celebration when he scored only would have added fuel to the fire in the event the Gunners turned the game around, which of course they did.
Rogers is likely to find himself on the end of jeers from Arsenal support once again when the North Londoners make the trip to the west of the capital to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the second-half of the season, and there is absolutely no doubt that the Gunners media team will have their captions, videos and content ready for another three points.
While this is all fun and games from the socials crew, it doesn't change the fact that Arsenal made light work of the Blues on Sunday. The response to going behind early was absolutely brilliant from Arteta's side and as soon as they equalised, and went in front, they prevented Chelsea from creating any real danger.
Konsa's superb challenge on Rogers was a key moment in the victory and it certainly deserved this little moment.
