Gary Neville predicts the outcome of Arsenal v Chelsea

Gary Neville has predicted how he expects the Chelsea-Arsenal game to end as two unbeaten clubs prepare to meet in the Premier League this weekend.

Arsenal secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Aston Villa in their last match, ensuring they have now recorded back-to-back wins in the league this season. The Gunners have made a positive start and remain one of the teams to beat in the division.

Chelsea have also made a winning start to the campaign, having won all their competitive games so far. The Blues have impressed with their performances and will head into the meeting with Arsenal full of confidence.

Chelsea face their biggest test

Although Xabi Alonso is still trying to understand his squad and develop his system, the Spaniard has made a good start to life on the Chelsea bench. The Blues will be pleased with what they have seen from their new manager during the opening games of the campaign.

This match represents Alonso’s biggest test so far, with everyone eager to see how he performs when Chelsea face one of the top clubs in the division. The visit to the Emirates will provide an early indication of how his team can compete against strong opposition.

Arsenal have several top players in their current squad who can help them secure another victory. However, Chelsea also possess plenty of attacking quality, meaning the Gunners cannot afford to underestimate their opponents.

Neville backs Arsenal to win

Neville believes Arsenal will ultimately come out on top, although he expects the game to provide a serious test for Arteta’s side. The former Manchester United defender also highlighted the threat Chelsea can pose in attack.

“They won’t defend in the same way as Villa so I think Arsenal may actually fancy their chances going forward more against Chelsea, but they’ll also have to be alert to the fact Chelsea have some fantastic attacking players.

“That’s what makes it really interesting. I think Arsenal will win the game but it’s a really good test for them and a really good moment to see Chelsea in the early days of Xabi Alonso.”

Neville therefore expects the Gunners to claim the victory, but he believes Chelsea’s attacking players could make the contest particularly interesting.
