Arsenal could now sign ‘one of the best players in the world’ in January for over £80m

Arsenal’s hunt for a new winger ended in disappointment in the summer window but it seems like eyes are already turning to January.
With the Gunners allowing both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard to leave, there is a gaping hole on the left side now, with only Christos Tzolis signed as a replacement.
Mikel Arteta made no secret of his desire to sign a new forward. Bids for Vinicius Jr and then Julian Alvarez were both snubbed, leaving the Gunners boss short.
However, things move quickly in football and now, there is a new target on the Arsenal radar.
Arsenal could revisit move for Barcelona star Raphinha
According to reports coming from Spain, the Gunners are preparing a move for Barcelona star Raphinha to ease their winger troubles.
The former Leeds man has been exceptional since moving to the Nou Camp and was recently given the captain’s armband by Hansi Flick.
It’s suggested that Arsenal could pay north of £80m to try and tempt Barcelona into a sale.
The Catalan club want to sign Julian Alvarez but need funds to complete a move with their own troubles off the field continuing to hinder them.

For Arsenal, interest in Raphinha is nothing brand new. Mikel Arteta wanted the Brazilian a few seasons ago but ultimately, he remained in Spain.
Now, though, it feels like the Gunners may have a second stab at being able to land the winger.
Hailed as ‘one of the best players in the world’ by none other than Xavi, there is no doubt Raphinha brings the quality Arsenal are seeking.
The question now is more of will Barca even entertain any bids.
