David Ornstein says £80m player Arsenal want to sign is now about to join Tottenham

Arsenal fans are about to face more disappointment in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners look unlikely to sign Julian Alvarez, which means they have to look elsewhere for an alternative option for their attack.

Reports revealed that Iliman Ndiaye was Arsenal’s ‘Plan B’ if they couldn’t get the Alvarez deal over the line, but that plan will not be fulfilled now.

That’s because Ndiaye is off to Spurs.

Iliman Ndiaye is about to join Tottenham instead of Arsenal

Iliman Ndiaye checked a lot of boxes for Arsenal.

The Senegal international, who was valued at £80 million, is excellent on the ball, a great dribbler, can play on both flanks and as a number 10, and is Premier League-proven too.

That is perhaps why Arsenal were interested in signing him for their attack, but David Ornstein has poured cold water over that deal.

That’s because Tottenham Hotspur have struck a deal to sign Ndiaye.

Spurs are in desperate need of new attackers after losing each of their first two Premier League games, and they have now made their move.

Richarlison is expected to go the other way in a separate deal.

Ornstein tweeted: “Agreement in principle reached for Iliman Ndiaye to join Tottenham Hotspur from Everton & Richarlison to move the opposite way in separate transfers.

“Deals for 26-year-old Everton attacker and 29-year-old Tottenham forward subject to personal terms and medicals.”

It remains to be seen now what Arsenal will do, with less than three days left in the transfer market.
