Arsenal are about to sell another player after Gabriel Jesus for the exact same fee

The big story on Sunday is that Arsenal have agreed to sell Gabriel Jesus to Barcelona.

The Brazilian has been on Andrea Berta’s ‘to-sell list’ for a long time now, and it looks like he has finally ticked that box.

Jesus has agreed to join Barcelona for an initial fee of €10 million (£8.5m), with a medical scheduled to take place on Monday.

But that isn’t the only sale Berta has agreed to today.

Like Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal have been trying to sell Fabio Vieira for a long time now.

The Portuguese midfielder spent last season on loan at Hamburg in Germany, where he played a huge part in helping them avoid relegation.

The Bundesliga side had an option to make that move permanent for €20 million (£17m), but they have been trying to reduce that fee all summer.

Now, it looks like they have succeeded.

Ben Jacobs has reported on X that Arsenal have verbally agreed an £8.5 million deal with Hamburg for the permanent transfer of Vieira.

Final details of the deal are still pending, but everything points towards a sale before Tuesday’s deadline.

That’s now two transfers sealed by Berta late in the window. It will be interesting to see if these funds will help him sign someone before the window shuts.
