Arsenal identify 26yo PL star as left-wing option, valued at £80m

Arsenal have identified Everton winger as a potential option for the left wing position, according to The Daily Mail.

The Gunners have made one attacking acquisition in Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge this summer.

The Greek winger has had a bright start, and has already registered a couple of assists in his two appearances.

Arsenal are still in the transfer market for a dream striker. It is known that they are looking at Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez.

Meanwhile, the Gunners could also pursue a left winger to compensate for Gabriel Martinelli’s likely move to Al-Hilal for £50 million.

Daily Mail claim that Ndiaye is among those Arsenal admire for the left wing. He is valued at £80 million.

Arsenal may not pursue deal for Ndiaye

The Senegal star has been linked with Arsenal on many occasions this year, but we are not convinced that the club will pursue a deal for him before the deadline.

Ndiaye managed only six goals and three assists from 32 Premier League appearances for Everton last season. He was largely successful as a right-sided winger for the Merseyside outfit.

The 26-year-old can also operate from the left wing, but his statistics at Everton are not convincing. He has scored 11 goals and provided one assist from 45 appearances in the position.

Ndiaye has dazzled with his dribbling, work rate and recovery pace. He is a brilliant team player and likes to do the defensive work and does not shy away from tackling.

However, Arsenal’s main requirement is the final third output. With the early success of Tzolis on the left wing, we don’t believe the club should spend £80m on a competitor.

Ndiaye would be a good acquisition for £50m, but a £80m outlay would not be justified.

Eberechi Eze played as a left-sided winger several times during his Crystal Palace career. It could be a position where he could adapt for the Gunners this term.

The Englishman came on a late substitute for Tzolis on the left wing against Coventry City, and it could be the way forward for Arsenal during the ongoing campaign.
