Report: Jesus set for Barcelona with Vieira exit agreed
Gabriel Jesus is reportedly edging closer to an Arsenal exit with a shock move to Barcelona close to completion.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Jesus will join Barça for €10m plus add-ons with a medical already booked for Monday. The Brazilian has been authorised to travel after a deal was struck between both clubs.
The 29-year-old had been training separately from his Gunners teammates amid interest from Napoli, with Mikel Arteta citing “personal situations” and needing to manage numbers within the group.
Arsenal have been trying to shift Jesus for some time now, with the striker falling down the pecking order due to various injury issues and his sizeable wages made him surplus to requirements.

There was further news from Florian Plettenberg (Sky Germany), who claims Vieira is also close to securing a €9m (£7.75m) move back to Hamburg where he enjoyed a productive loan spell last season.
There was a 20m buy option included in the deal last summer, although that expired earlier this summer with the Bundesliga side keen to re-negotiate terms.
It’s understood that Vieira was keen on returning and only wanted Hamburg, where he has now been authorise to travel and complete a medical ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The 26-year-old made 29 Bundesliga appearances for HSV last term, scoring seven goals.
Gabriel Martinelli is expected to join Saudi Premier League side Al-Hilal in the coming days, although it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will strengthen before the deadline despite these departures.
