Mikel Arteta has just recreated a stunning partnership that makes Arsenal nearly unbeatable

A big part of Mikel Arteta’s philosophy is creating great partnerships on the pitch.
The Arsenal manager has done that brilliantly at the Emirates Stadium over the years, and that helped him finally bring an end to the club’s Premier League title drought.
The triangle at the back between William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya is world-class, while Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi’s midfield chemistry in the first half of last season was brilliant to see as well.
However, the best partnership of them all was recreated by Arteta in the game against Coventry City.
Mikel Arteta recreated Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz partnership
Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz have all had injury issues over the last 18 months.
Arsenal struggled in attack in the absence of the trio, and that led to a lot of criticism last season, even though they went on to win the Premier League title.
Even this summer, people like Jamie Carragher are accusing the champions of not having a world-class attacker, but data says otherwise.
When Odegaard, Saka and Havertz all start together, the Gunners rarely lose. In 36 such games, the North Londoners have been on the losing side just three times.
All three players started in the win against Coventry City on the opening day of the new season, and they were all phenomenal.

Havertz opened the scoring, Saka doubled the lead, and then Odegaard sealed it with a third goal just after half-time.
When those three attackers are on the pitch, Arsenal’s attack looks a lot more fluid, and that helps them win more games than not.
Arsenal missed that trio – the last time they started together before Friday night was all the way back in December 2024.
Now, Saka, Odegaard and Havertz all look fit, hungry and in form, and that could be a game-changer for Mikel Arteta’s champions this season.
