Arsenal have made official approach to sign 16-goal/assist forward

Arsenal have held talks with Real Madrid over a late summer move for Endrick, according to talkSPORT.

The Gunners are on the hunt for a new forward before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night.

They have been linked with multiple names, including Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, and talkSPORT now claim the club have made an ‘official approach’ for Endrick.

Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has publicly insisted that Endrick is not for sale, but Arsenal are ready to test Los Blancos’ resolve to keep him before the deadline.

Endrick has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and has yet to feature this season.

Arsenal unlikely to convince Madrid into Endrick sale

Endrick was out of favour with Madrid during the first half of the 2025/26 campaign and did not make a goal contribution. He joined Lyon on loan at the turn of the year and had a huge impact.

The Brazilian netted eight goals and provided eight assists in just 21 appearances (16 goal contributions) for the Ligue 1 outfit. He played up front and on the right wing, but was largely successful as a centre-forward with nine goal involvements in just eight appearances.

Arsenal may consider Endrick as a potential option to lead the line. The 20-year-old has superb dribbling skills and has also dazzled with his pace and direct running behind defences.

His immense potential would make him a quality acquisition, but we doubt Madrid would contemplate selling the youngster against the wishes of new head coach Mourinho this summer.

The Portuguese tactician recently said that he did not want to loan or sell Endrick and admires his qualities. Hence, we don’t see Los Blancos opening the door for a permanent transfer.

A straight loan could be a solution before the window closes, but it would not benefit Arsenal. It does not make sense for the Gunners to develop a player for a direct Champions League rival.
