Christos Tzolis has already become a very popular figure at Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta has created a fantastic environment at the club, and that helps every new player settle in really quickly.

Numerous Arsenal stars have spoken about the family feeling within the Emirates, which explains why the morale is always so high.

Tzolis is benefiting from that massively in his debut season, and he has been given a few interesting nicknames as well.

Christos Tzolis reveals his nicknames at Arsenal

There have been rumours about Christos Tzolis’ nickname at Arsenal.

It often takes a while before new signings become close enough with the players and staff to affectionately be given nicknames.

However, with Tzolis, it looks to have been instant.

Reports have claimed that the Gunners number 17 was given the name Leonidas, based on the Greek King who led 300 Spartans in battle at Thermopylae.

Tzolis has now revealed that there are a few more nicknames.

He said on Sky Sports: “Here, I have many! They call me Leonidas, Tzatziki Greek Salad, Mykonos, Santorini – they call me everything!”

Tzolis revealed that the Leonidas nickname was given by new Arsenal fitness coach Jose Jimenez, who has apparently studied everything related to Greek history.

As for the funnier nicknames, one man is behind it – Ben White.

Tzolis added: “Greek Salad, only Ben White calls me that.”

Christos Tzolis could be the best bargain signing of the season

It’s clear to see that Tzolis is already well loved at Arsenal.

The Greek attacker has settled in very well behind the scenes, and that may have played a part in helping him hit the ground running on the pitch.

Tzolis has picked up four assists in his first five games as an Arsenal player, which is a phenomenal record in his first season at such a big club.

Arsenal fans are already in love with Tzolis, and at £34 million, he is looking like the biggest bargain of the summer transfer window so far.
