Arsenal are finally about to get their revenge on Man United, Andrea Berta is confident of double deal

Arsenal and Manchester United have always been fierce rivals.

Yes, the rivalry has eased in recent years because Mikel Arteta’s side have been a level above, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any animosity between the two sets of fans.

Arsenal fans haven’t forgotten about United signing Robin van Persie and Alexis Sanchez from them. More recently, they lured away two massive academy talents – Chido Obi-Martin and Ayden Heaven.

Now, the Gunners can finally get their revenge.

Arsenal are pushing to sign young Manchester United duo James Scanlon and Habeeb Ogunneye

Arsenal have put in a lot of work to improve their academy recruitment over the last few months.

Andrea Berta brought in Maurizio Micheli to get a better insight into the best young players in the world, and they have signed a few huge talents already.

Now, Arsenal have turned their attention to Manchester United duo James Scanlon and Habeeb Ogunneye, claims The Telegraph.

Scanlon is a Gibraltar international with 24 senior caps and five goals for his country already. He has played 110 games for United’s U18s, U19s, and U21s sides and has directly contributed to 55 goals.

The 19-year-old is a left winger by trade, but he has played on the opposite side as well.

Ogunneye, 20, is a right-back who has played 73 times for Manchester United’s academy sides. He was previously an England U17 international.

The report claims that Arsenal are growing in confidence in their pursuit of the two youngsters, who have both trained under Michael Carrick in the first team.

Arsenal could do with a new winger for their academy following the departure of Ismael Kabia on loan. The right-back position needs reinforcements too following Louie Copley’s serious knee injury.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal can get these deals over the line to bolster their academy in the coming days.
