What Gabriel Jesus has just done will give Andrea Berta a serious headache

Arsenal’s outgoings are not going to plan.
Gabriel Martinelli rejected Galatasaray’s approach, perhaps understandably so, given his ambitions.
Fabio Vieira’s move to Hamburg is still dragging on. Reiss Nelson is yet to find a buyer despite West Ham interest.
The sales plan that was supposed to fund Arsenal’s final push in the transfer market is moving considerably slower than Andrea Berta would have hoped.
And now there is another complication.
Gabriel Jesus rejects move to Napoli
According to Matteo Moretto, Gabriel Jesus is currently not open to the Napoli solution despite the good rapport between the Italian club and Arsenal.
“The Brazilian striker is taking his time while waiting to understand the best solution for his future,” Moretto reports.
It’s a strange decision from Jesus. Napoli feels like a good move for him at this stage of his career.
He’s clearly not good enough for Arsenal any more, and is effectively their fourth-choice striker behind Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres and Mikel Merino.
But he would be a genuine asset in Serie A, where the pace of the game and the style of play suits his profile. It seems like a good move for everyone.
But Jesus, it appears, doesn’t see it that way. Maybe Napoli didn’t offer him a role as a guaranteed starter.
And for a player who has spent the last three/four seasons battling injury and fighting for minutes, the desire to play regularly is entirely understandable.
Napoli are already exploring alternatives including those from Premier League rivals — Joshua Zirkzee at Manchester United and Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea.
If Arsenal are to bring in an attacker before the end of the window, Jesus’ £265,000-a-week salary needs to be cleared off the books.
Arsenal should still be able to recoup around £15million for the striker too.
Berta has 13 days to untangle this. The clock is ticking.
