Arsenal vs Chelsea early injury news as 2 ruled out and 4 doubts

Arsenal are preparing for their first London derby of the season, facing Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. The Gunners have won both games so far, defeating Midlands pair Coventry City and Aston Villa.

Chelsea will be a much stiffer challenge, judging by their summer spending, and it's going to be an interesting litmus test for Mikel Arteta's men, and especially after Arsenal failed to tick off all of their summer transfer needs, ending the window without signing a new left-winger.

The Blues have won both of their Premier League games so far, scoring and conceding at will, winning 4-3 and 3-2 so far. As Arsenal prepare to welcome their London rivals, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding both sides.

Alonso has said that Palestra would 'hopefully' be available this weekend. He will go down as a doubt for now.

Henderson is expected to miss another week or so with his wrist injury, but Alonso said last week: "[Waiting for him to be given] the green light to play soon." He cannot be ruled out just yet.

Caicedo picked up a fresh issue last time out and will be a doubt. Alonso said after the game: "Hopefully, it’s not new, and it wasn’t more than last time... He was cautious to stop, to say that his feeling was not the best. We need to assess during the week that it wasn’t something else."

Saliba is out until some time in November due to a back injury. Arteta said in his last address on the defender: "Wilo, obviously not much, he’s in conservative load management right now, so that's going to take a while."

Barring a surprise, Timber will be out for another week or so. Arteta said last week: "Jurrien is progressing really well. Let's see how he ends up this week. It's the third week in a row that he's been outside, and we have increased his load. So he's on the right trajectory. If everything goes well, I think next week we're going to step it up again."

Mosquera is a doubt after picking up a small issue. Arteta said after the game over the weekend: "He’s fine, but he was feeling like he was about to have something, and that’s why we have the bench that we have, and that’s why we had to bring Ezri (Konsa) in."
