When is the Carabao Cup fourth round draw and who could Arsenal face?

After suffering defeat in last year's Carabao Cup Final at Wembley, can Arsenal go one better this time round? On Tuesday night, the Gunners began their EFL Cup campaign by demolishing Ipswich Town 4-2 at Portman Road, a match far more one-sided than the scoreline suggests.

Mikel Arteta's team were four goals in front shortly after half time, with Max Dowman showcasing his talent by scoring twice, while Noni Madueke and Mikel Merino were also on target. Two late goals from the Tractor Boys merely took a bit of the gloss away from the scoreline.

So now, who can Arsenal face in the next round, and when will fans find out?

The Carabao Cup fourth round draw takes place tonight, on Wednesday 16 September, at around 10:30pm (BST). It will be broadcast on Sky Sports, following the conclusion of Manchester United's clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford. Ashley Young and Jamie Redknapp will be conducting the draw, hosted by Pien Meulensteen.

It is a completely open draw, meaning anyone can face anyone, unlike the complicated and convoluted round three draw.

In total, 11 of the 16 spots in the fourth round have been snapped up so far. Alongside Arsenal, Liverpool, Brentford, Fulham and EFL League One side Peterborough United all progressed on Tuesday.

They join the six sides who won matches last mid-week, namely Chelsea, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Bournemouth from the Premier League, as well as another third-tier outfit, namely Bradford City.

The remaining five teams will advance on Wednesday and Thursday, with the fixtures documented below.

The Carabao Cup fourth round fixtures are scheduled for 27, 28 and 29 October. This falls in between Premier League matches against Everton in North London and then Liverpool at Anfield for Arteta's team.

Considering the Gunners face Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the Allianz the mid-week before, this is a hectic period, meaning Arteta is surely hoping for a home game against either Peterborough or Bradford.
