The Emirates at 20: Arsenal’s Home Told Through the Numbers
The Emirates Stadium celebrated its 20th anniversary in July, while August 19th marked two decades to the day since it opened its doors to the Premier League.
Join me throughout the season as we continue to wish a happy birthday to our home.
This time, it’s all about the numbers…
The Emirates by the numbers
20 – That’s how many years Emirates Airlines has sponsored Arsenal’s stadium (and shirt), the longest in Premier League history.
19 – The number Gilberto Silva was wearing when he became the first Gunner to score a competitive goal at our new home.
18 – Hat-tricks have been scored at the stadium. Incredibly, none by the opposition.
17 – The number of concerts held at the venue.
16 – The age of Max Dowman when he became the youngest player to score at the Emirates.
14 – The number of League titles and FA Cups the club has lifted in its history. The 14th of both came in the Emirates era.
13 – All 13 of Arsenal’s WSL fixtures will be played at the Emirates this season, the most it has ever hosted in one campaign.
12 – The number Thierry Henry wore on his return to the Emirates.
11 – The shirt number Robin van Persie wore for the majority of his career in North London, before switching to 10 for his final couple of years. No player has scored more goals at the stadium.
10 – The most goals scored in a single game at the Emirates, when Arsenal beat Newcastle 7-3 in 2012.
9 – How many times Manchester City have won at the Emirates, the most of any visiting side.
8 – How many Gunners have scored at the Emirates for Arsenal before returning to score at the stadium for someone else.
7 – How many goals we scored against Slavia Prague in 2007. That 7-0 victory remains the biggest at the Emirates.
6 – How many goals Harry Kane has scored at the Emirates, the most by a visiting player.
5 – How many trophies Arsenal have lifted since moving to the Emirates: one Premier League title and four FA Cups.
4 – How many competitive shootouts have taken place at the Emirates. The Gunners have won two and lost two.
3 – How many full-time managers Arsenal have had since moving to the Emirates.
2 – How many Champions League semi-finals have been staged at the stadium.
1 – Arsenal have had one season at the Emirates in which they didn’t lose a single home fixture.
