Sean Dyche reckons Arsenal have made two signings that simply can’t fail

Success in football these days is largely defined by the transfer market.
A good window can transform a club – Arsenal know that better than most, their work in the early 2020s turned Mikel Arteta’s side from pretenders to contenders, while teams such as Chelsea and Manchester United often mismanage their spending which has led to long-term decline.
Of course, there’s no such thing as a guarantee in the transfer window, but according to Sean Dyche, speaking on The Overlap, Arsenal have made two signings over the summer that are basically fail-proof.
Sean Dyche says Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa can’t fail at Arsenal
Dyche was analysing a number of clubs’ summer transfer business before he inevitably got onto Arsenal.
The former Burnley manager says that both Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa are signings that are guaranteed to work out for Arsenal due to the fact they already have Premier League experience.
“When Arsenal signed Guimaraes I thought right they’re not signing a ‘maybe’. They’re signing someone they know knows the Premier League, and Konsa is the same I think they’re brilliant signings me I really do because I looked at I mean if you want to win the league again because they’re but they’re buying game ready fact game ready not even a maybe,” Dyche said.
Guimaraes has already started to impress in an Arsenal shirt, while Konsa has taken to life in north London like a duck to water.
Buying Premier League experienced players is often how teams go on to build dynasties in this league.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City could often uncover gems from abroad, but many of their key players were signed from other English clubs – the likes of John Stones, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Kyle Walker, Nathan Ake and Mateo Kovacic just to name a few.
Meanwhile, Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United side were masters of this art, the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Antonio Valencia, Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney, Edwin van der Sar and, most pertinently, Eric Cantona were all signed from English rivals too.
Guimaraes and Konsa are two signings that should only serve to make Arsenal better, and they could well help the Gunners retain their title.
