Sam Allardyce has picked out a problem with Bukayo Saka after watching him for England

We’re in the middle of an international break, and while there’s been more than enough to talk about in the Premier League over the last week, on the pitch, England have taken centre stage.

The Three Lions have been in action twice so far, losing to Spain and beating Czechia 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal have been well represented in these games, with the likes of Eberechi Eze playing and Myles Lewis-Skelly struggling to impress so far when given a chance in midfield.

Bukayo Saka has also been involved. It’s been noted that Saka wasn’t great for England this week, and now, Sam Allardyce has shared his view on the winger.

Sam Allardyce wants Bukayo Saka to be more adventurous for England

Allardyce discussed England’s attacking performance vs Czechia on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast.

The former England manager noted that he was impressed by Anthony Gordon’s ability to get past his defender and deliver a cross, but he noted that he wishes Bukayo Saka did a bit more of that, claiming that he seems to do that for Arsenal more than he does for England.

“He’ll (Gordon) be judged on the assists and goals in the end, but to have the pace to go past the defender and cross the ball is really, really quite exciting for me. I’d like to see Saka do it more. He seems to do it more for Arsenal than he does for England,” Allardyce said.

Saka’s performance for England in midweek wasn’t great, and, on the whole, he’s not been amazing for England since Thomas Tuchel came in.

Yes, he scored a hat-trick in the 3rd place playoff game at the World Cup, but he wasn’t a key player for England at the World Cup – spending quite a lot of time on the bench.

Saka has been incredible for England at tournaments in the past, and, hopefully, he’ll be able to do the same again in the future.
