National media say £30m Arsenal player is one of the best in the world after international showing

The international break is upon us, and while Arsenal may not be in action for a few weeks, the football doesn’t stop for many of Arsenal’s players.

Indeed, Arsenal’s stars have jetted off across the world to represent their countries, and, as ever, when pulling on their national shirt, they want to showcase their abilities in the best way possible.

One player who takes great pride in playing for his nation is Martin Odegaard. The midfielder was incredible at the World Cup over the summer, and he’s carried that form into the new season too.

Norway secured a 3-2 win over Denmark on Thursday evening, and the Arsenal captain, as is becoming habit, ran the show.

Norway’s national press were very impressed by Odegaard, it has to be said.

Norway’s media react to Martin Odegaard’s performance vs Denmark

Odegaard grabbed two assists against Denmark, and his local media were impressed to say the least.

VG described Odegaard as ‘brilliant’ in this game, noting ‘“There are few players in the world who are better right now.” It’s hard to disagree with that summary based on how the midfielder has started this season.

Meanwhile, Dagbladet hailed Odegaard and his midfield partner Sander Berge for a great performance here, saying: “Martin Ødegaard and Sander Berge shone in midfield.”

Dagbladet would also give Odegaard an 8/10 rating for the game, saying: “The captain was involved in Norway’s play throughout the match. He ran tirelessly and provided a delightful assist to Bobb for the opening goal. He followed up with a decisive assist for Haaland in the second half. A brilliant performance.”

433 hailed Odegaard for his ability to control the game too, giving him another 8/10 rating, noting: “He took control of the ball early on. Always looking for the best play opportunity. Had bad luck with several of the balls he aimed at Haaland in the first half, but in the second half it was a smart corner option. Controls the tempo throughout the match.”

Odegaard was excellent against Denmark, and Arsenal will be hoping that this is yet another step towards rediscovering his very best form and putting together a Player of the Year worthy season.

Based on how Odegaard has started this campaign, you could well argue he’s one of the best in the world on form right now.
