Arsenal had a lot to be happy about in their Carabao Cup clash against Ipswich Town.

Mikel Arteta made plenty of changes to his side, with 16-year-old Max Dowman and 17-year-old Marli Salmon both starting the game.

Despite that, the Gunners were incredibly dominant, scored two early goals and ended up winning the game 4-2.

An away win in the cup is definitely something to be delighted about, but one Arsenal player was raging after the game.

Why Myles Lewis-Skelly was furious after Arsenal beat Ipswich Town

Myles Lewis-Skelly doesn’t ever come across as an angry young man.

The teenager is always cheerful, has some great banter and enjoys every moment he is on the pitch playing for his beloved Arsenal.

On Tuesday night, Lewis-Skelly was the same for the most part, but in the final moments of the game, the youngster was furious.

Just moments earlier, the Arsenal academy graduate was pulled back and fouled by Chuba Akpom while he was running back towards the goal.

It was a blatant foul, but the referee ignored it, allowed the game to continue, and Akpom ended up scoring against his former club.

Lewis-Skelly was so angry with the decision, and his rage continued even after the final whistle.

Videos surfacing online show the 19-year-old trying to approach the referee after the game and having a go at him.

Skipper on the night, Mikel Merino, had to intervene and hold him back, while Mikel Arteta also came into the scene and pushed Lewis-Skelly away.

It may not seem like much after a win, but the standards of refereeing seem to be going down every game.

Lewis-Skelly had every right to be furious with the decision, but Merino and Arteta were right to hold him back, as he would’ve been punished if he carried on.

Arsenal will move on to their next game now, but there needs to be work done behind the scenes at ProRef because the current standards of refereeing are simply not good enough.
