The Premier League champions have won every game they have played so far, and they have been deserved winners each time as well.
The latest of those victories came against Sunderland on Saturday night, where Bruno Guimaraes and Bukayo Saka scored the goals to seal the three points.
That may lead to an unpopular and slightly unfair decision from Mikel Arteta very soon.
Mikel Arteta could be forced to drop Myles Lewis-Skelly at Arsenal
Myles Lewis-Skelly has had an incredible start to the new season.
There was a lot of speculation over the summer transfer window about the Arsenal academy graduate’s future, with several big clubs linked with a move to sign him.
A secret conversation with Arteta convinced Lewis-Skelly to stay, and he has started every Premier League game so far.
However, after a difficult first half against Sunderland, Lewis-Skelly was withdrawn at the break and replaced by Guimaraes.
The Brazil international was fantastic in the second half, scored a phenomenal goal and provided the pass to Saka before he was fouled inside the box.
As good as Lewis-Skelly has been, it has to be said that Guimaraes has earned the right to start Arsenal’s next Premier League game against Brighton.
That would be really harsh on Lewis-Skelly after his brilliant start, but we feel Arteta doesn’t have a choice here – Guimaraes offers a lot more.
We expect Arsenal’s midfield against Brighton to be a trio of the Brazilian, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
Myles Lewis-Skelly has an immediate chance to stake his claim
After coming off at half-time against Sunderland, Lewis-Skelly is very likely to start Arsenal’s Carabao Cup clash against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.
Arteta is expected to rotate his side against the Tractor Boys, with several fringe players set to get the nod from the start.
Lewis-Skelly should be fairly fresh after being an unused substitute against Napoli and playing just 45 minutes at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
The teenager should use that game to convince Arteta that he should still keep his place in the Premier League side ahead of Guimaraes.
