Jamie Carragher claims £30m man is Arsenal’s most important player, ‘I think he’s amazing’
Arsenal have a number of top players in the current squad but Jamie Carragher has suggested it’s one of the cheaper signings who is top dog.
The Gunners have spent fortunes in recent transfer windows.
The likes of Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice have all cost huge money, while others have cost relatively modest fees in comparison.
One of those players to cost around the £30m is goalkeeper David Raya. And after seeing Raya’s stunning penalty save at Sunderland this week, Carragher has suggested the Spaniard is Arsenal’s most important player.

Now, Jamie Carragher has spoken on Sky tonight and suggested that Raya is indeed in the conversation to be considered Arsenal’s most important player.

“I think he’s amazing. I think you could definitely make an argument that he is Arsenal’s most important player, you really could,” Carragher said.
“I honestly think he’s that good. He was outstanding last season, and then the save now. I’m repeating myself but all teams who win league titles, they have a goalkeeper like that.”
We’ve seen over recent years just how important a goalkeeper is.
Ederson and Alisson at Manchester City and Liverpool have both been massive, while even when Leicester won the title in 2015, Kasper Schmeichel was hugely important.
Right now, Arsenal have definitely got the best goalkeeper in the league. It’s that simple.
