Injury expert issues Ben White verdict after what happened during Sunderland vs Arsenal

Arsenal star Ben White appeared to have suffered an injury against Sunderland.

The Gunners were involved in a very difficult first half at the Stadium of Light. Mikel Arteta’s men had the better chances, but they couldn’t break the deadlock and were made to work extremely hard.

Arsenal’s defenders, in particular, were put under immense physical pressure by the hosts, and that clearly took its toll.

White ended that half with what looked like a groin issue.

Injury expert’s verdict on Ben White’s groin problem

Ben White has had several injury issues over the last few years.

The Englishman, on his day, is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, and he had been brilliant since the start of the season.

White struggled at times against Sunderland tonight, and towards the end of the first half, he was in visible pain.

Arteta told Jurrien Timber to get ready immediately, and although White finished the half, his apparent injury meant he couldn’t come out for the second period.

Injury expert Physio Scout, who are renowned for their football injury analysis, took to X to share their verdict on White’s potential issue.

They wrote: “Ben White appeared to pick up groin/adductor discomfort during Arsenal vs Sunderland. White was seen clutching his groin after chasing back defensively late in the first half.

“Arteta subsequently said he was “fine” ahead of Sunderland, after battling a niggle in the midweek fixture.

“Expected Recovery Time: If tightness/minor irritation: <1 week, day-to-day. If Grade 1 adductor strain: 1–3 weeks. Hopefully, this is more precautionary than anything else.

“Further assessment will determine whether this is simply tightness or an actual low-grade groin/adductor strain.”

We really hope it’s nothing serious for White. He has been outstanding so far, and it would be a real shame if he ends up with a spell on the sidelines.
