How Myles Lewis-Skelly joined Cesc Fabregas in exclusive Arsenal club after starting v Sunderland

Myles Lewis-Skelly is doing very well indeed in terms of keeping his place in the current Arsenal first-team.

After Bruno Guimaraes signed, many believed Lewis-Skelly would be the one to move out of the team yet so far, he has thrived again in midfield.

Lewis-Skelly was once again given the nod at Sunderland yesterday and while Guimaraes got the crucial goal, the Arsenal youngster shone.

Indeed, in starting for what was the 50th time in an Arsenal shirt in the Premier League, Lewis-Skelly has put himself into a list of some elite Arsenal legends.

Lewis-Skelly is proving himself to be quite the player in this Arsenal team.

There’s a lot to be said for how he has bounced back as well. He could easily have downed tools or pushed for a move this summer once Guimaraes arrived.

Now, though, after making his 50th Premier League start, ‘MLS’ finds himself among Arsenal royalty.

Lewis-Skelly has now entered the top five of Arsenal’s youngest players to make 50 PL starts. It’s quite the list, too.

Cesc Fabregas is at the summit with a whopping 124 starts while Bukayo Saka comes in second on 74.

Nicolas Anelka then pops up at three with 64, while Jack Wilshere is also featured with 51 starts before he turned 20.

Lewis-Skelly, then, will look at that list of names and feel he has a real chance at making a huge impact.

The key now is to keep the consistency going and potentially look to add goals and assists to his game.

If he can do that, then Arsenal have effectively got themselves a £60m+ midfielder for nothing.
