How long Man City’s appeal process may take amid title race with Arsenal

Arsenal will be hoping to retain their Premier League title this season, but after four wins from four, Manchester City will hope to have something to say about that.

However, after the bombshell news that Manchester City have been found guilty of 114 Premier League charges on Friday, it’s genuinely hard to call what is going to happen next and how the title race will be affected.

City, with many oddsmakers, are seen as just as likely to win the league as they are to be relegated – that’s how unclear this situation is.

Arsenal fans will be hoping for a quick resolution here, but according to The Telegraph, that may not be the case.

When Man City could be punished after appeal process

According to the Telegraph, we may not have heard the end of this situation, and a concrete resolution may still be some way away.

Indeed, some sources consulted believe that this could still take another two or three years to truly come to a head.

Of course, this isn’t great news for Arsenal as on-the-pitch, City remain their greatest challengers in the title race.

That said, all of this behind-the-scenes upheaval may well cause issues that spill onto the pitch.

Would anyone blame Erling Haaland or Enzo Fernandez if their focus shifted away from performing to the best of their abilities? Knowing that any day their employers could be sanctioned by the Premier League, hit with points deductions or even banished from the competition entirely.

In a way, three more years of uncertainty could be worse for Man City than immediate clarity – of course, that is if they don’t manage to wriggle out of this bind in one way or another.

At the moment, there are still so many unknowns around this situation, and Arsenal will be one of the many teams affected by this uncertainty in the coming weeks, months or maybe even years.
