Deportivo La Coruna will be bidding to make it three straight wins in Spain's top flight when they travel to Getafe on Sunday evening.

The visitors have had an excellent start to the season, picking up eight points from four matches to sit fifth in the La Liga table, while Getafe are 15th in the division on four points.

Getafe boast a record of one win, one draw and two defeats from their four league matches this season, with four points leaving them down in 15th spot in the division.

The capital outfit have had a busy start to the campaign due to their involvement in the Conference League, and they managed to secure their spot in the league phase of the tournament courtesy of a 4-3 aggregate success over Partizan.

Jose Bordalas' side will begin their Conference League league phase in October, but they have four league matches before then against Deportivo, Real Betis, Malaga and Barcelona.

Getafe will enter this match off the back of a 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo.

Sunday's game will be the first meeting between Getafe and Deportivo since February 2018, when the former recorded a 3-0 victory.

There have only actually been 22 meetings between these two sides throughout history, and Getafe just about lead the head-to-head record eight wins to seven.

Deportivo have been one of the surprise packages in La Liga this season, and they will enter this match off the back of a sensational 3-2 victory over Champions League team Villarreal.

The Blue and Whites, who finished second in last season's Segunda Division table to secure a return to the top flight, have a record of two wins and two draws in La Liga this term.

Antonio Hidalgo's side are currently fifth in the table, only one point behind third-placed Real Madrid, and they have had an excellent start to the campaign.

Deportivo are back at this level for the first time since 2017-18, and they have spent time in the third tier since their last participation in the top flight.

Getafe will be without the services of Zaid Romero through suspension on Sunday, with the 26-year-old sent off in his side's draw with Celta last time out.

Juanmi, Abdel Abqar, Francho and Christantus Uche are also out through injury, but the home side are hopeful that Martin Satriano will shake off a knock in order to start.

Enes Unal has been in strong form this season, scoring three times in six appearances, and the 29-year-old will continue in the final third of the field.

As for Deportivo, Adria Altimira will return to the squad following a suspension, but Noe Carrillo remains on the sidelines due to a muscular issue.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored four goals and registered two assists in four league appearances this season, and the experienced attacker will continue in the final third.

Bil Nsongo is also expected to retain his spot in the starting side.
