Fabregas is learning from Arsenal as Como continues to impress
Cesc Fabregas is doing an amazing job at Como as they cope well with the fixture congestion of playing in the Champions League and Serie A this season.
Many people expected Como to struggle after they overachieved in the previous campaign, but they have so far looked comfortable. They have won three and lost none of their opening four league matches, while also beating their first Champions League opponent.
This is shaping up to be another surprisingly comfortable season for Como, and Fabregas’ reputation as one of the best managers in the game continues to grow. His work has already attracted attention as he looks to build on the progress made last season.
He is one of the former Arsenal players who followed in the footsteps of Arsene Wenger by becoming a manager. Fabregas learnt a great deal from the Frenchman during his playing career, and that experience is proving useful as he develops his own approach from the touchline.
Arsenal provide inspiration

After Como’s 2-1 win against Parma, Fabregas explained how Arsenal have influenced his thinking. He said via Football Italia:
“In modern football, it is very important to have defenders who score goals. Arsenal won the Premier League largely with goals from defenders and on set plays. If we add this to our capabilities, then it’s an advantage.”
Fabregas’ comments underline his admiration for Arsenal’s approach and his willingness to learn from other successful teams. With Como balancing domestic and European football, incorporating ideas that can improve their attacking threat could prove valuable as the season progresses.
