Arsenal transfer talks held as club chief speaks out to 'officially confirm' update

Arsenal are closing in on another departure with Fabio Vieira in Germany to complete a move to Hamburg. The 26-year-old is set to make his temporary spell permanent after spending last term on loan at HSV.
The Gunners are making a flurry of sales in the closing stages of the transfer window, which is set to close on September 1. Vieira is completing a medical with the German side over a move worth €9million (£7.74m).
The Portuguese landed in Europe at noon on Sunday and will bring an end to a four-year career in North London, earning 33 league appearances for the Gunners. In recent seasons, the Porto academy graduate has spent time away from the Premier League with loan spells at his boyhood club and Hamburg, last season.
Arsenal are in the process of finalising more departures with Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli close to completing exits.
football.london understands that Jesus has been given the green light to join Barcelona in a deal worth €10m (£8.5m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons.
His Brazilian compatriot Martinelli is closing in on a move to Saudi Arabia. Arsenal and Al Hilal have been in talks over a move for the winger and have reached an agreement worth £60m.

Vieira was apart of the Hamburg side that earned a return to the German top-flight following a number of years in the second division.
HSV board member Kathleen Kruger admitted that they had been putting in the foundations to complete a move for Vieira.
The Portuguese could be in the squad for their next match at home to Mainz next weekend.
Kruger told Sky Germany before Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund: "The fact is that Claus Costa was in London. I can officially confirm that.
"That shows how much we value Fábio. I can reassure all HSV fans: We are working very, very hard in the transfer market. And he would, of course, be a great addition to our team.
"I believe he felt very comfortable here, and I think that hasn't changed to this day.
"But at the end of the day, it has to be the right fit overall. It's very important that we continue down the path HSV has taken in recent years, and in a financially sound manner."
