£17m Arsenal transfer now looks like a masterstroke after win vs Coventry

Arsenal got their Premier League season off to a flyer on Friday night.
The reigning champions beat Coventry 3-0 to immediately return to the top of the Premier League after a historic campaign last time around.
Of course, in such a dominant win, there were a few standout performers.
Martin Odegaard looked rejuvenated and back to his best, Kai Havertz looked electric, while new signing Christos Tzolis seriously caught the eye.
Indeed, Tzolis has taken to life back in the Premier League like a duck to water, and it’s fair to say there’s quite the buzz around the Greece star at the moment.
Tzolis certainly caught the eye, and his performance against Coventry vindicated another transfer decision Arsenal made this summer.
Arsenal proven right to sell Leandro Trossard
Leandro Trossard was sold to Besiktas earlier this summer in a deal worth £17m.
Trossard’s sale was a deal that raised eyebrows, after all, the Belgian had been one of Arsenal’s better attackers last season, and he often turned up in big moments.
However, after just one Premier League game without Trossard, the decision to sell him looks like a masterstroke.
Arsenal received £17m for Trossard – not an insignificant fee at all, and given his age and contract situation, that was likely Arsenal’s last chance to raise any cash for the winger.
Of course, if you sell a player of that ability, you have to replace them, and, by the looks of things, Arsenal may have even found an upgrade in the shape of Tzolis.
Selling Trossard for £17m and signing a much younger upgrade for around £35m is just great business. Andrea Berta has evolved and future-proofed this Arsenal squad for a net spend of just £18m.
Of course, it’s never easy to make tough decisions on players that have served you so well, especially those that have won Premier League titles, but it’s already quite clear that the respective moves for both Trossard and Tzolis were smart business from the Gunners, and that’s what will turn your team into a dynasty.
