Boost as Arsenal target turns down move to Hull City

Arsenal are one of the clubs monitoring a move for Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jean Mattéo Bahoya, and they could look to sign him as they close in on selling Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.

Both attackers have agreements to leave, meaning the ideal response would be for Arsenal to add at least one new attacker to their squad during the closing hours of the transfer window. Mikel Arteta would welcome another option, particularly with the Gunners needing sufficient depth in attack.

Bahoya could be a superb backup to Christos Tzolis, who has made a fine start on the left wing since his summer signing. His versatility and attacking qualities could make him an attractive option if Arsenal decide to approach before the window closes.

However, Arsenal delayed approaching Bahoya, allowing Hull City to try to bring him to the Premier League. The new boys presented an acceptable offer to Frankfurt for the attacker.

Hull City fail to sign Bahoya

According to Fabrizio Romano, the German club accepted Hull City’s offer for Bahoya, meaning a club-to-club agreement had been reached. However, the 21-year-old rejected the move, preventing the transfer from being completed.

No reason has been given for Bahoya’s decision to turn down Hull City. His refusal, however, leaves the door open for another club to approach before the transfer window closes.

Arsenal could benefit

If Arsenal are serious about adding Bahoya to their squad, his decision to reject Hull City could prove to be a boost. The Gunners could potentially offer him a more attractive opportunity, particularly if they are preparing to lose both Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.

A move to Arsenal would also give Bahoya the chance to join a club competing at a higher level, making it understandable why the attacker could be more interested in their proposal.

The Gunners now need to decide whether to act before the deadline. With agreements already in place for Jesus and Martinelli to leave, Arsenal could benefit from adding another attacker, and Bahoya remains an option as the clock continues to tick towards the close of the transfer window.
