Mikel Arteta gives Cristhian Mosquera injury update after Arsenal absence vs Chelsea

Mikel Arteta has revealed a "muscular issue" kept Cristhian Mosquera out of the Arsenal squad that beat Chelsea. Goals from Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard sealed a comeback victory for the Premier League champions after an early Morgan Rogers opener.
Arteta made one change to his starting XI with summer signing Ezri Konsa coming in for the Spanish defender, who was forced off against Aston Villa last weekend. He subsequently missed out at Emirates Stadium on Sunday with the Gunners boss providing the latest news on his fitness after the game.
When asked for an update on Mosquera, Arteta said: "Yeah, so he had a muscular issue, and we think it's not too much, but we need to wait and see in the next few days how this evolves."

Mosquera was not spotted in training pictures this week and given the issue, could be in a race against time to feature in next week's Champions League clash against Napoli.
More changes are expected for that clash in Italy with the Gunners taking on Sunderland in the Premier League just a few days later. The signing of Konsa was questioned at the time but is now proving to be the correct decision with Mosquera joining William Saliba and Jurrien Timber on the injury list.

Despite those key absences, Arsenal have a 100 per cent winning record this season and have conceded just one goal with that a Rogers volley against Chelsea.
Arteta's side responded emphatically to going behind with their equaliser coming courtesy of a driven left-footed strike from Kai Havertz just outside the box. Riccardo Calafiori thought he had levelled proceedings moments earlier but an offside in the build up saw that goal disallowed by VAR.
Captain Martin Odegaard then turned the game around early into the second half after he finished off Christos Tzolis' pass in behind, which was expertly dummied by Havertz.

Another three points has seen Arsenal return to second in the table with only Manchester City above them after their wins over Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Coventry City.
Speaking on the likely battle between the two, Arteta said: "It will be super hard and the margins as well. We went to Villa Park and it was a really tough one. We go to Sunderland and it will again be so tough again."
The first meeting between the two in the league arrives in late November at Emirates Stadium and in the middle of a busy period for Arsenal where they also face Newcastle United, Tottenham and Real Madrid.
