Napoli vs Arsenal injury news as 5 ruled out and 3 doubts

Arsenal got to the Champions League final last season, where they lost on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain. Mikel Arteta's side will be looking to go one better this campaign, and that begins with a fixture in the league phase against Napoli.

The Gunners topped the league phase of the competition last season and will be aiming to do so again. They go into the match with Napoli full of confidence after just beating Chelsea 2-1 in the Premier League. However, the Gunners do still have some injury concerns. As do Napoli, who have some big-name players missing.

Saliba was instrumental for the Gunners last season alongside Gabriel Magalhães. However, he is out with a back injury. This means that Ezri Konsa will likely partner Gabriel against Napoli. Arteta recently gave an update on Saliba: "We don’t know how many weeks he will be out. The progression has been really positive, but we need to wait and see how he puts some load into it.”

Timber has not featured yet this season due to a groin injury, but he has returned to training. However, it is still to be assessed as to whether he will feature against Napoli. Areta has said that the player is "in really good condition at the moment."
