Darren Bent knows how Arsenal would deal with JJ Gabriel situation

JJ Gabriel is one of the most prodigious talents in the Premier League right now, and Manchester United could be about to lose him after he asked the Red Devils to cancel his contract so he can leave for free.

He is one of the most talked about teenagers in English football, alongside Max Dowman. However, there is a difference between their situations, as Arsenal are already giving Dowman serious game time, with the youngster potentially ahead of Noni Madueke in the pecking order at the club.

Gabriel wants a way out

Dowman can see a clear pathway to first-team football at Arsenal, but despite the attention surrounding Gabriel, he has been unable to get minutes at United and is not willing to wait any longer.

The youngster has gone on strike in an attempt to force through a move away from the club, as he asks United to cancel his registration so that he can leave. It is an unfortunate situation for the Red Devils, particularly because they regard him as the crown jewel of their youth teams.

Gabriel’s situation has raised questions about how another club might handle a similar situation involving one of its most highly regarded young players. Arsenal have already shown a willingness to give Dowman opportunities, but that does not necessarily mean they would allow a player to dictate the terms of his departure.

Bent discusses Arsenal’s approach

Darren Bent has discussed the situation and believes Arsenal would not want to continue with Gabriel if he were in the same position at the club. Speaking about the matter, Football365 quoted him as saying:

“I think you have to and I think Mikel Arteta would do that (move him on), I think Fergie [Sir Alex Ferguson] would do that.

“It would be a shame but I think later on down the line, it would turn out to be the right decision.”

Bent’s comments suggest that a club may have to make a difficult decision when a young player is unwilling to remain despite being highly regarded. Gabriel’s situation remains unresolved, but his desire to leave has placed United in a challenging position regarding one of their most promising teenagers.
