How people close to Myles Lewis-Skelly reacted as soon as rumours claimed he could leave Arsenal

Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly has dominated the headlines this week.

Despite being a fringe player for large parts of the 2025/26 season, the academy graduate made the midfield position his own in the final weeks and played a massive part in helping his side win the Premier League title. He even started the Champions League final.

Despite that, wild rumours revealed on Tuesday that Lewis-Skelly had been offered to clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United.

Many immediately assumed that his representatives were behind this, but that is not true at all.

Myles Lewis-Skelly’s people were ‘shocked and confused’ by Arsenal exit reports

Arsenal fans could not understand reports linking Myles Lewis-Skelly away from the club.

Bruno Guimaraes’ arrival was reported to be the reason the youngster was being offered to other clubs, but that made no sense at all.

Arsenal struggled with fatigue in their midfield last season, so selling one player right after signing another would’ve been a terrible decision.

What also confused people was who was offering Lewis-Skelly to other clubs. Was it Arsenal? His agents? Or himself?

Hand of Arsenal has now rubbished many of those reports on X.

The trusted insider has revealed that people close to Lewis-Skelly had nothing to do with these reports and were actually shocked by them.

However, Hand of Arsenal confirmed that news about the interest in him is very much true.

They wrote: “Skelly is fully Arsenal through and through.

“The noise today did not come from the player side at all. In fact, they were shocked at the reports and confused.

“The boy loves Arsenal, but the interest in him is real.”

Selling Myles Lewis-Skelly would be Arsenal’s worst decision in decades

Arsenal should not even consider selling Lewis-Skelly this summer.

How can a player who became undroppable in the business end of a title-winning season and a starter in the Champions League final suddenly be up for sale? It makes no sense.

Despite Guimaraes’ arrival, Arsenal need Lewis-Skelly in their midfield, and he could still get minutes at left-back as well in games when Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie are either unavailable or are playing centrally.

Despite all of the above, if Arsenal decide to sell him, it would be their worst mistake in over two decades, since they let Ashley Cole leave for Chelsea.

This just cannot happen.
