Arsenal’s task of beating Aston Villa just got so much easier; they could embarrass Unai Emery

Arsenal’s season is off to the perfect start after beating Coventry City 3-0 but the club’s next opponents, Aston Villa, have had a nightmare.
Unai Emery’s side were hammered by Brighton as they Seagulls once again set their stall out as an outsider for the top four this season.
For the onlooking Mikel Arteta and his coaching team, there’ll have been plenty for them to unpick from Villa’s performance and in reality, a lot to get excited about.
In fact, Villa have essentially given Arsenal a huge opportunity thanks to the antics of their big new signing as well.
Joao Gomes’ red card could help Arsenal hammer Aston Villa
Joao Gomes has been on the radar of a number of clubs over the years and he’s even been looked at by Arsenal. So when he signed for Aston Villa this summer, he was very much seen as a guaranteed success.
However, fast forward just 40 minutes into his debut and he’s already been sent off and effectively cost his new team.
Crucially, it now means that Gomes will be suspended for the clash with Arsenal a week on Monday.
Of course, one of Arsenal’s big strengths is in central midfield. The new signing of Bruno Guimaraes has made the Gunners stronger and while he is injured at the moment, Gomes’ red card today basically means Arsenal do not need to rush the new man back.

Instead, the three of Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and Myles Lewis-Skelly will easily have enough in the tank to dominate a Villa midfield that will now likely consist of Boubacar Kamara and Ross Barkley.
While both are good Premier League players, they are nowhere near the level of this Arsenal midfield.
In terms of a perfect start to the campaign, Arsenal couldn’t have asked for much more. In fact, come Monday Night Football in a week’s time, we could be seeing a huge away win.
