Gabriel Jesus gets dream Arsenal transfer exit as cut-price fee revealed and medical booked

Arsenal and Barcelona have agreed a deal for the transfer of Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian forward is set to depart for £8.57million, with add-ons also available for the Gunners.
Jesus is scheduled to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of making the move to Camp Nou. The former Manchester City ace has been training away from Mikel Arteta's main squad after being made available for transfer.
Barcelona had been vocal in their quest to sign Arsenal target Julian Alvarez but now look to have moved on. Atletico Madrid had been adamant they were not doing business with their La Liga rivals.
"The members of Atletico Madrid’s Board of Directors have unanimously expressed their full support for the club’s decision not to negotiate the transfer of Julian Alvarez to FC Barcelona," Atletico said in a statement.
"The members of the Board of Directors are aware that: Atletico Madrid is open to negotiations that are part of the transfer market, but always in an ethical and professional manner and with respect between clubs.
"We fully support the position previously communicated by the club that FC Barcelona have not met these requirements and, as a result, there have been no negotiations, nor will there be any negotiations with them regarding the transfer of Julián Alvarez.”

Jesus has long been linked with an exit, with the likes of Napoli credited with interest in the player. The 29-year-old is now set for a La Liga switch instead.
The north London side's £20m asking price and Jesus' wage demands had proven a barrier, but it appears the Gunners have now relented with the fee they have demanded. Jesus has failed to make matchday squads under Arteta this season and the Spaniard had hinted he could be on his way out of the club, referring to 'personal situations'.
"Well, it's something to do with the numbers that we have in the squad at the moment and the way we're managing that kind of situation individually with all the players that have some personal situations," Arteta said in a press conference.
Asked to clarify what he meant by 'personal situations', Arteta added: "Personal situations, whatever they are, I think it's clear."
Jesus was looked upon as a transformative signing from Manchester City when he arrived in 2022. The Brazil international has scored 32 goals and provided 22 assists across 123 appearances for Arsenal but missed large stretches through injury.
