Breaking: Arsenal make record-breaking bid for Julian Alvarez and Atletico Madrid are ready to accept

Arsenal have launched a huge bid to sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.

It has been clear for a while now that the Gunners are interested in signing the World Cup winner, even though his dream is to join Barcelona.

Atleti and the Catalans have been in a public dispute regarding the issue, with Rojiblancos releasing a statement today saying they will not sell Alvarez to Barcelona.

Seeing that, Arsenal seem to have acted upon their interest and made a bid.

Arsenal have made a club-record bid to sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid

Arsenal’s record signing is Declan Rice.

The Gunners sealed a mammoth £105 million deal to sign the West Ham captain in the summer of 2023, and he has been one of their best players since.

It was always inevitable that Arsenal would break that transfer record at some point, and it looks like they are prepared to do that now.

El Desmarque have revealed that the Premier League champions have made an opening bid of €120 million plus another €10 million in add-ons.

That’s the equivalent of £102.86 million plus £8.57 million worth of add-ons, taking the total package to £111.43 million.

What’s more interesting is that the report claims Atleti are satisfied with that proposal, even though they initially demanded €150 million (£128.57m) for Alvarez.

It has been revealed that the Madrid club are ready to sell him to Arsenal for that figure, but there’s still a big problem.

Julian Alvarez’s reaction to Arsenal’s bid

It looks like Arsenal will not have any problems with respect to transfer fees for Alvarez, but personal terms are a different story.

The report claims that the Argentine once again turned down a move to the Gunners because he does not want to return to the Premier League.

Arsenal are expected to try to convince Alvarez again, with assistant coach and fellow Argentine Gabriel Heinze playing a key role in the pursuit.

Only time will tell if they can change Alvarez’s mind before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.
