Chelsea makes first move in fight with Arsenal for Bundesliga star
Arsenal could miss out on signing Jarell Quansah from Bayer Leverkusen, as Chelsea have stepped up their interest in adding the defender to their squad during this transfer window.
Quansah has emerged as a leading target for the Gunners as they look to strengthen their defence with another important addition. He has been in excellent form for Leverkusen since joining from Liverpool and appears destined to return to the Premier League in the future.
Arsenal want to be the club he joins, but they face serious competition from Chelsea. The Blues also believe Quansah should become part of their squad and have already moved ahead of Arsenal by making contact about a possible transfer.
Chelsea Make First Move
According to a report from Football London, Chelsea have made contact while continuing to monitor interest in the defender. The Blues have not reached an agreement to sign Quansah, but their approach serves as a warning to Arsenal.
Chelsea’s early move suggests they are prepared to act quickly to secure the defender. If Arsenal fail to respond, the Gunners could allow their London rivals to gain a decisive advantage in the race for his signature.
Quansah’s form in Germany has made him an attractive target for both clubs. He has demonstrated the quality and consistency required to compete at the highest level, while his previous experience in England could help him adapt quickly if he returns.
Arsenal Must Respond
Both Arsenal and Chelsea have the financial resources to pursue the defender and would be keen to complete a deal. The final outcome could therefore depend on which club presents the most convincing offer and moves fastest.
Arsenal have admired Quansah for some time, but interest alone may not be enough to secure his signature. Chelsea have now made the first significant move, placing them ahead of the Gunners at this stage.
The race remains open because Chelsea do not yet have an agreement with Leverkusen. However, Arsenal will need to respond quickly if they want to prevent the Blues from completing the transfer before they have the opportunity to make their own approach.
