Bruno Guimaraes says what every Arsenal player did in the dressing room after Brighton loss
Arsenal were given a footballing lesson by Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta took his side to the Amex with the aim of making it four wins in a row against the Seagulls, but the Gunners boss got it all wrong.
Arteta’s tactics of playing through the press played right into Brighton’s hands, and they picked up a convincing 3-0 win as a result.
No Arsenal fan was happy with the result, and the feeling inside the away dressing room was very similar.
Arsenal players were ‘complaining’ about themselves after Brighton clash
Arsenal’s performance against Brighton was one of their worst displays since they became title challengers.
The last time the Gunners lost a game 3-0 was all the way back in May 2023. Ironically, that was against the Seagulls as well.
No Arsenal player can really hold their head up high after such an embarrassing display, and we’re sure Arteta would’ve had some strong words to say after the game.
Even the players themselves weren’t happy. New signing Bruno Guimaraes, who was really poor himself, has now revealed what went on in the dressing room at the Amex.
He said, as per SI: “I think today is a day to forget. Everything we tried didn’t work. Credit to them [Brighton] as well, but we can’t accept this here.
“I think in the changing room, everyone was complaining about ourselves, about the level we played today. Like I said, it’s not acceptable. A very bad day in the office.”
Arsenal’s next five games include difficult fixtures
Arsenal will have to wait three weeks to right their wrongs against Brighton because of the long international break.
Arteta would’ve got a reality check from that defeat, and we expect him to dedicate a lot of time over this period to plan for the upcoming fixtures.
Right after the break, Arsenal take on Leeds United at home. Daniel Farke’s side have had a good start to the new season and are more than capable of causing an upset.
Arsenal have two tricky games against Lille in the Champions League and Nottingham Forest away from home in the Premier League, before a massive clash against Bayern Munich in Europe. The Gunners conclude that five-game run with another difficult game against Everton.
If the Gunners are at their best, they are capable of winning all five games. But if they play like they did against Brighton, they could find themselves in trouble.
