Bayern Munich now want to sign player Arsenal sold for just £8m

Arsenal have sold a number of players who have then gone on to make it back to the top level.

Serge Gnabry became a superstar after leaving Arsenal, Ismael Bennacer made his way into AC Milan’s team after leaving the Emirates, while Emi Martinez became a World Cup winner after leaving Arsenal and has since joined Chelsea.

Now, another former Arsenal player could be set for a move to one of the world’s biggest clubs.

Just this week, Neto got a move to Juventus, and now, another former Arsenal goalie could be set for a move to one of Europe’s giants.

Bernd Leno attracting interest from Bayern Munich

Back in 2022, Arsenal sold Bernd Leno to Fulham for a measly £8m, in a deal that was seen as great business for the Whites at the time.

Since then, Leno has established himself as a true fan favourite at Craven Cottage, the Whites hardly go a game without singing about ‘Super Bernd Leno in goal’ and he’s been a key player again this season.

Leno put in a Man of the Match performance last time out against Manchester United, and, once again, he’s catching the eye of some of the best teams around.

According to Bild, Bayern Munich are interested in Leno, and that could be a very interesting move for the German.

Leno is 34 years old, but that doesn’t mean he can’t make one final big move. In fact, we’ve seen exactly this sort of thing before at Fulham.

Back in 2005 at the age of 35, Edwin van der Sar left Fulham for Manchester United as an experienced veteran who had taken a step down, and he became a true great for United.

With Manuel Neuer surely heading towards the end of his career, perhaps a late twilight for Leno at Bayern Munich could be in the offing.
