West Ham is showing interest in struggling Arsenal man
West Ham have become the latest team interested in giving Reiss Nelson another chance to get regular first-team action after he struggled on loan at Brentford last season.
The winger has been out of Arsenal’s plans for a long time and has spent the last few seasons out on loan, but Arsenal would now love to sell him. The Gunners have just signed Christos Tzolis, which is a clear sign that they do not trust Nelson as they look to remain one of the top clubs on the continent.
Mikel Arteta is leading one of the best Arsenal teams we have all had the chance to watch in a long time. They won the league crown last term while also coming close to winning the Champions League.
West Ham see Nelson as an option
The Gunners will want to remain competitive, and players such as Nelson will not help them achieve that goal. This explains why they want him gone, while the Metro says West Ham want to sign him.
The Hammers have just been relegated from the top flight, and they see Nelson as a player with considerable experience at the highest level who can help them return to the Premier League immediately.
West Ham’s interest could therefore provide Nelson with another opportunity to establish himself and play regular first-team football. After spending several seasons away from Arsenal on loan, a move could give him the chance to secure a more consistent role elsewhere.
Arsenal ready to offload Nelson
Even if West Ham want a simple loan deal, there is a good chance Arsenal will approve the transfer as the Gunners look to offload him this season. Arsenal have already made it clear that Nelson is no longer central to their plans, and moving him on would allow the club to continue shaping the squad around the players they believe can help them remain competitive.
For West Ham, Nelson could offer valuable experience as they look to return to the Premier League. His previous experience at the highest level could make him an appealing option as the Hammers attempt to recover from relegation.
A move would also give Nelson another opportunity to play regularly and rebuild his career after a difficult loan spell at Brentford. With West Ham showing interest, the winger could now have another route towards consistent first team action.
