Arsenal fans react to Ethan Nwaneri's Champions League debut for Borussia Dortmund
Arsenal loanee Ethan Nwaneri made his Champions League debut for Borussia Dortmund against Villarreal on Tuesday night.
The teenager was given permission to join the Black and Yellow team for this season on loan on deadline day, and he has already had a positive impact.
In his Bundesliga debut against Hoffenheim, Nwaneri’s shot was deflected into the back of the net, and that helped Dortmund win the game.
Against Villarreal, Nwaneri had another really positive game, and Arsenal fans seem very impressed.

Just like against Hoffenheim, Ethan Nwaneri started the game against Villarreal on the bench, but he had to come on at around the half-hour mark because of an injury.
That is not ideal at all for a player, but on both occasions, the Arsenal academy graduate was one of the best players on the pitch.
Gooners were really impressed with Nwaneri’s display on Tuesday night and heaped praise on him.
One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Nwaneri is getting better and better.”

Another wrote: “I still don’t know why Arteta chose to loan him out. He would’ve been a far better backup than Madueke. What a performance!”
“Nwaneri is cooking at BVB! He looks in the mood, doesn’t he?” said another.
Another Arsenal supporter reacted by saying: “Very impressive Champions League debut for Dortmund from Nwaneri. Looks fast, strong and creative. Perfect loan.”
“Watching Ethan Nwaneri play with this kind of energy again genuinely makes me happy. Whoever negotiated this loan move to Dortmund deserves a lot of credit,” wrote another.

Nwaneri came on for Dortmund in the 27th minute and was then subbed off in the 82nd. That may make it look like he had a poor game.
However, the teenager was fantastic.
Nwaneri had 55 touches of the ball, only one of which was unsuccessful, and completed 32 of his 35 attempted passes at a 91 per cent passing accuracy. (Sofascore)
The Arsenal loanee also had six shots at goal – more than any other player – and came ever so close to scoring. However, his strike hit the inside of the post and rolled out.
Although it’s still early days, Nwaneri’s loan move to Dortmund looks like a masterstroke, and we can’t wait to see more of him.
